ProVeg is an international food awareness organisation with the mission to reduce global animal consumption by 50% by the year 2040. We are active in eight countries across four continents and are growing rapidly. We work with governments, private companies, public institutions, medical professionals, and the public to help the world transition to a more plant-based society and economy that is sustainable for humans, animals, and the planet.

Role Summary

The people behind ProVeg (formerly VEBU) are united by a vision of a world where everyone chooses to eat delicious and healthy food that is good for all people, animals, and the planet. Our goal is to reduce global animal consumption by 50 percent by 2040. We are committed to this goal at both individual and institutional level.

The V-Label is an internationally recognised and protected trademark for the labelling of vegetarian and vegan products. It is a simple and safe guide for consumers. Companies create transparency and clarity with the V-Label. In addition to the award of labels for food, cosmetics and non-food articles, quality management, international cooperation and external communication measures are projects of the work area.
Responsibilities
  • Research and data preparation on state-of-the-art food technology and industrial manufacturing processes.

  • Supporting customer advisors in the licensing process in the food sector, from inquiries to invoicing.

  • Research and data preparation on norms, standards, and food-law fundamentals.

  • Database maintenance and office organisation.

  • Supporting international V-Label partner countries.

Qualifications
  • You are enthusiastic about plant-based living.

  • Ideally, you are enrolled in ecotrophology, food technology, food chemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy studies, or a related course of studies or have a high affinity for nutrition, quality management, and food.

  • You have strong communication skills.

  • You can work independently.

  • You have a good command of English and German at native-speaker level.

  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.

  • You live in Berlin or would be happy to move to Berlin for an internship.

Should you be shortlisted for the job, the following steps will apply:

  • An online-based sample task.
  • An initial interview with you.
  • An office trial day, which will consist of undertaking a set of tasks that would be typical of the work that you would do with us. Depending on the location, this day can either take place in our office or can be done from home. In this way, we want to get to know you and your way of working even better, as well as give you the opportunity to get a good idea of the work entailed.
  • Subsequently, the final decision will be made (if necessary an additional final discussion may be required).

The application process takes between four and eight weeks and includes the following steps:

For federal voluntary services and internships, the process is shortened slightly and usually only one interview is conducted. In these cases, the trial tasks are usually carried out in the form of a trial day at our Berlin office.
